The MCPS-PRS Alliance

PRS LogoPRS is home to 50,000 music creators - who are our direct members - and through our relationships with other collecting societies, represents many thousands more music creators around the world when their works are performed in the UK(and in Europe).

It's hard to imagine a world without the music that our members create. Music of every kind is everywhere, every day - in live performance, on TV and radio, as downloads and streams from the Internet, and played in clubs, pubs, shops and more.

PRS provides access to 10 million different pieces of music, enabling its public performance and ensuring that those who have created that music are paid royalties for the use of their work.

Royalties create a future for music by providing a vital income source to music creators, enabling them to continue to write and create more music.

PRS, formed in 1914, is one of the world's leading royalty collection societies. It is a not for profit membership organisation, which means that all the money we collect from our music-using customers is available for distribution to our members and to music creators around the world, minus as mall administration charge.

PRS currently distributes around £300m of royalties to music creators every year.
